This query letter resulted in a contract with literary agent Jessica Alvarez at BookEnds, LLC and a publishing contract with Harlequin, which led to a subsequent contract with FOREVER, an imprint of Grand Central Publishing.
I had a call today from Harlequin with an offer to buy my inspirational historical romance LADY OUTLAW. Though this isn’t the manuscript you read from me last fall, you mentioned I was a good writer and you would be happy to see other projects from me. I wanted to see if you would be interested in representing me.
When Jennie Jones discovers she’s sharing a stagecoach with two bandits, she makes a rash decision to steal their loot to save her family ranch from the bank. But one robbery isn’t enough, and Jennie soon finds herself living a life far different from her faith-filled upbringing.
After hiring a kind, Christian man with secrets of his own, Jennie realizes she has to make the most important decision of her life—fight for her ranch or follow her heart. Set in southwest Utah in 1869, LADY OUTLAW explores the power of love, redemption and sacrifice for what really matters most.
I look forward to hearing from you.
